LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said that news of a big wicket falling in the political arena will be heard soon.
Speaking to reporters in Lahore, Khan said that he would not respond to the query in detail and dodged a reporter who asked him whether he was talking about Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
He said that after April 29, the PTI flood would take the shape of Tsunami plus. “One tsunami will be seen by the public and the other by PTI,” Khan said.
On April 19, the PTI chief had invited Nisar to join his party. In his Lahore conference, Khan had said that Nisar’s refusal to take orders from Maryam Nawaz were praiseworthy.
“It was good to see that Nisar had taken a strong stand,” he said. “Nisar took a stand against a woman had no other achievement except for being the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,” he added.
Rifts between Nisar and the PML-N leadership had first emerged after the famous Panama Papers case verdict was announced by the Supreme Court on July 28, 2017. The decision led to the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif after which the party started agitating against state institutions, a decision Nisar refused to endorse.
