LAHORE: Pakistani left-handed batsman Fawad Alam has struck a deal with the Clitheroe Cricket Club in the Lancashire League.
The news comes as a breath of fresh air for Alam, who was denied selection in the Pakistan Test team for the tour of Ireland and England yet again.
“Being hopeless is a sin. I’ll do what I know best. I’ll work hard, try my best, practice more, and play whatever domestic cricket comes my way. My cricket doesn’t end here if I wasn’t named in the squad,” Fawad had said earlier on April 16.
On the other hand, the Pakistan cricket team, under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed, will be playing one Test against Ireland and two against England on May 11 and May 24, respectively.
Alam is reported to be on top of his game as far as fitness is concerned. He has scored more than 10,000 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 55.37, including 27 centuries and 57 half-centuries.
Moreover, the 32-year old left-hander has also represented Pakistan in three Tests, 38 ODIs and 24 T20Is, with a collective score of more than 1,500 runs.
