LAHORE: Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and her father, Noor Rabbani have been nominated in a forgery case filed by Khar’s stepbrother, Abdul Khaliq.
According to details, the former foreign minister’s stepbrother, Abdul Khaliq, filed a fraud and forgery case against 25 people, including Hina Rabbani and father Noor Rabbani, alleging that the accused had illegally transferred family property in their own names.
Abdul Khaliq had already filed a complaint at the directorate of anti-corruption which registered a fraud case against the accused after an initial investigation.
Hina Rabbani Khar is a post-graduate in hospitality and tourism from the University of Massachusetts and became the minister of state for finance and economic affairs in 2009. She also served as the 26th foreign minister of Pakistan.
Khar was not only Pakistan’s youngest and first woman foreign minister but also became the first woman to present Pakistan’s national budget in the National Assembly.
She has her roots in a wealthy feudal family of southern Punjab.
