ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Shari and his daughter Maryam Nawaz will return to Islamabad from London on Monday.

Maryam, in a tweet on Sunday, confirmed reaching London’s Heathrow Airport to depart for Pakistan.

The duo is set to appear before the accountability court upon their return from London.

The family is facing three separate corruption cases in the accountability court after National Accountability Bureau (NAB) lodged references against them.  The references were filed after the Supreme Court announced its verdict over the Panama Papers scandal.

Nawaz and Maryam went London on Wednesday to visit Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who is being treated for cancer in a hospital in the city.

The judge refused to allow Maryam and Nawaz to be exempt from the upcoming hearing on 23 April after allowing them an exemption for the hearing on 20 April over the Avenfield properties case.

Nawaz and Maryam had previously agreed to come back if the court denied them permission to miss the hearings.
