Eight quacks held, unregistered drug stores sealed in Sargodha

SARGODHA: The officials of district administration and health department on Sunday sealed eight quacks’ clinics and unregistered drug stores.

Police said that a team led by Bhera Assistant Commissioner Umar Farooq and Deputy Director of Health Sanaullah conducted raids at the Miani area and sealed eight medical stores along with arresting eight quacks.

The police registered cases against Sharif Medical Store, Rana Medical Store, Sheikh Medical Store, Bhoola, Sadaat Medical Store, Khadija Maternity, Alvi Dawa Khana Kalyan Pur And Alhayat Medical Store.

On April 14, the apex court had ordered Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) to seal illegal clinics of quacks across Punjab. The court asked all the authorities to act in aid of the commission for the purpose. The court further held that it would only hear appeals against the actions of PHC actions.

The bench comprising CJP and Justice Ijazul Ahsan passed the orders while hearing a suo motu notice regarding illegal quackery business.
