Sikh pilgrims leave for India as Baisakhi festival comes to an end

LAHORE: Sikh pilgrims, who had come to Pakistan from India for the Baisakhi festival have started returning to their country on Saturday.

According to officials, the first train left for India via the Wagah border with 650 Sikh pilgrims on board. A total of 1,730 pilgrims will return to India in three trains.

Earlier on April 12, around three thousand Sikh yatrees arrived in Pakistan from all-over the world to attend Baisakhi at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal.

During their visit to Pakistan, the pilgrims visited main Gurdwaras in the Punjab province including Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahab, Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad, Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal.
