Police constable injured in firing incident passes away

HAFIZABAD: A police constable injured in a firing incident on Friday night, passed away during treatment at a hospital here on Saturday morning.

According to the details, a police team on Friday-Saturday night had tried to stop a suspected motorcycle near Head Sagar in Hafizabad, but instead of a stopping, the motorcyclists had opened fire at the police check post, injuring the (late) constable, Umer Usman.

The injured constable, who was deployed at the Saddar Police Station, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition where he expired despite all-out efforts of the doctors.

With the attackers still on the loose, the police after registering a case have started investigating the incident.
