Ali Zafar’s mother defended her son after allegations of sexual harassment, adding that their family would deal with the case in court.

Dr Kanwal Ameen said, “A man also has a family just as a woman does. For me, both genders are equally respectable. Just like a woman, a man also has respect and dignity.”

Answering to a media person’s questions, she said that she doesn’t want to speak more on this controversial matter.

On the other hand, Momina Mustehsan claimed that she too had been subjected to sexual harassment, asking Ali Zafar to apologise if he did something wrong. “I too have been a subject of harassment, and this issue is bigger than just Ali Zafar.

CELEBS REACT TO HARASSMENT ALLEGATIONS AGAINST ALI

“BUT I would want to ask Ali Zafar one question: do you think you have EVER, knowingly or unknowingly, violated a woman in any way or form? If you have – because no one is an angel – I request you to acknowledge your fault, apologize unconditionally, learn from the mistakes, and become a better human being,” she wrote on Twitter.

Meesha’s tweet has propelled a whole new movement against the actor-singer as more women, mostly female fans have come forward to share their stories of harassment. Twitter has been alight ever since Meesha came forward with the allegations.

The Pakistan film industry got its own taste of Hollywood’s #MeToo movement Thursday when singer and actor Meesha Shafi accused fellow singer Ali of sexual harassment on multiple occasions.

Meesha made her allegations public via a Twitter post in which she said that she cannot maintain silence anymore. The singer shared her experience in a note with the caption, “Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out…but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore.”
