After 30 years, snowfall hits Nathia Gali, Murree in April

The weather of Murree and Nathia Gali snowfall grew chiller after snowfall hit the hill station in the summer month.

According to some media reports, it is after some 30 years that there has been snow in Murree, Nathia Gali and surrounding areas during April.

“After 30 years snowfall started in April in Nathiagali and Ayubia. All thanks to Global warming. Shame on people who are criticizing billion tree tsunami project,” said one Twitter user.

Videos and pictures of the snowfall were shared by the people on social media. Roads, rooftops and trees can be seen covered with thick snow.

Also, there was a hailstorm in Nowshehra during April 18. One of the Twitter users wrote, “Hailstorm in Nowsherwa today. I have served there for more than two years and seeing such weather in mid-April is unbelievable.”

The Met Office had forecasted rain, thundershower (snow over hills) with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Larkana, Sukkur, Quetta and Kalat divisions.
