–Former Sialkot CIA DSP Rana Nadeem claims blackmailing gang forcibly stripped him naked for photo shoot

LAHORE: A senior police officer has been dismissed from service after images revealing his alleged sexual encounter with another man became public.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Sialkot Rana Nadeem Tariq was ordered by the Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz to report to the Central Police Office in Lahore and relinquish his charge after the emergence of the scandalous photographs.

In his defence, Rana Nadeem claimed that “an informant” named Nauman had called him to an office in Mandi Bahauddin where three other men had forcibly stripped him naked and took his naked photographs with Nauman.

“I had taken permission from the DPO (District Police Officer) to attend a wedding ceremony in Gujranwala on February 26, 2018, and went to Mandi Bahaudin to attend a funeral afterwards. Upon contact with Nauman, who had promised to provide me with intelligence regarding criminal elements in the locality, I visited him at his provided location on my own private vehicle.

“I expressed a desire to leave the office as soon as I felt suspicious, but Nauman insisted on serving me a cup of tea,” explained Rana Nadeem but added that “the taste was rather odd so I became increasingly suspicious and alert.”

It was at this point that the former DSP says Nauman contacted someone after which three unknown individuals entered the room.

“The three men forcibly undressed me while Nauman took his clothes off and grabbed me.”

Rana Nadeem Tariq claimed that it was at this point that the images and videos were recorded.

“I was handed my clothes as soon as they had accomplished their malicious designs.

“The incident lasted for approximately 45 minutes and they refused to delete the images despite my earnest pleadings.

“They were trying to blackmail me but i tried to manage the situation with full awareness that I could not solicit the assistance of any senior officer.

“This was a pre-planned attack against my honest and courageous service for the police force. I assure my innocence in the matter and can swear that I have never met Nauman before the incident,” added Rana Nadeem.

Rana Nadeem joined the police force in 1997 as an inspector and was later promoted to the position of DSP.
