KARACHI: Two prisoners, Zahid Saghir and Naseer Abid, mysteriously died in Karachi central jail on Thursday.
According to the police, Abid was brought to appear in the court when his health deteriorated. He was then shifted to Central Hospital for treatment during which he passed away, the police claimed.
On the other hand prisoner Zahid was found dead in the prison. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital. According to Jail officials, 40-year-old Zahid was serving life imprisonment in a murder case and he was in jail since 2005. Three cases were registered against Abid at Azizabad police station and he was in jail from January 2017.
According to jail officials, post-mortem of both the prisoners will be conducted in the presence of a magistrate.
