SHO among 30 booked for kidnap, torture: report

KASUR: Phoolnagar police on Wednesday booked 30 people for allegedly kidnapping a man who was in litigation with the unit’s management, reported by a local media outlet.

The complainant Farha Bibi said that her husband Sardar Ali of village Kharak Singh was kidnapped by the suspects when he was returning home after attending the hearing of his case against the mills in a trial court some weeks back.

Ali was taken to an undisclosed place by the suspects where he was tortured. According to the woman, when she approached the local police station to file a complaint against the suspects, SHO Saqlain Shah allegedly threatened her with consequences and refused to file the case.

On Wednesday, following the LHC orders, the police registered a case against SHO and 29 others, including mills administration.
