ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday met Kulsoom Nawaz, who is undergoing cancer treatment in London’s hospital.
On Twitter, Maryam shared a picture of her parents in which Nawaz could be seen sitting beside ailing Kulsoom.
Maryam wrote: “Meeting Ami after 5 months. 5 long months….. She looks very weak & pale. May Allah bless her & all mothers with perfect health.”

Before leaving for London, Maryam Nawaz tweeted that the Sharifs will request for exemption from appearance in the next accountability court’s hearing, which will be held on Friday, and if the exemption is not granted they will return, she added.
The accountability court is conducting corruption proceedings against the Sharif family based on the references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the light of July 28th verdict of the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case.
On Tuesday, Maryam in a tweet said that her mother was hospitalised again and asked well-wishers to pray for her health. In January, Kulsoom successfully went through her fifth chemotherapy session in London where she is undergoing treatment for cancer for the last one year.
A few months ago, the ailing PML-N leader underwent a surgery to remove lymph nodes. Despite being away from the country, she won the by-election for the NA-120 Lahore after Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification from public office in the Panama case. She has not yet taken oath as the member of the National Assembly.
The ousted prime minister and his daughter are expected to stay in London for five days. The hearing of the corruption reference against Sharif family will take place on Friday.
