Salman Khan is the angel who helped me get back in shape: Bobby Deol

MUMBAI: Despite being one of the top actors in Bollywood a couple of decades back, Bobby Deol was being sidelined by the big-ticket producers in the industry. However, a call from Salman Khan got him back into the game. The actor shared his motivation and Salman’s contribution towards getting him back on track, reported Zoom.

Once a heartthrob of Bollywood, Bobby Deol got swept into the shadows after the 2008 film Dostana. In an interview a year back, the actor had said that despite being one of the prominent Bollywood stars throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, Deol seemed to have lost his stardom and was not getting any new film offers other than his family produced films like the Yamla Pagla Deewana series and Poster Boys. Now, a year later he has three films in his kitty while being in talks for other projects as well.

He is back in shape judging by his recent Instagram post and the images of his metamorphosis have taken the media by the storm who can’t seem to stop gushing about the actor’s reinvented avatar.  In a recent interview, the actor revealed the many secrets behind his transformation back to the limelight and most important of them all is Salman Khan. According to Bobby, it was the Sultan actor who motivated and helped him to get back in shape. Some say Bobby has never looked better, even counting his prime days in Bollywood.

FITNESS FIRST:
He was down and out when it came to keeping fit or taking care of himself. Consequently, the film offers too had dried up. However, it was Salman Khan who called him up and motivated him to get back in shape. Bobby Deol called Salman an angel sent by God in his life to help him reinvent himself.

“He is truly an inspiration. He believed in me and made me understand that I should take better care of my body.” Bobby revealed that his superstar friend, who is also his co-star in Race 3, got his personal trainer Rakesh Udiyar to work on him as well. “He is the head coach but I train with his assistant, Prajwal, who’s always with me. Rakesh is Salman’s trainer but monitors the workouts that I do every day,” he told DNA.

In addition to rigorous workout sessions with weights and cardio, the actor also followed a strict ketogenic diet that was rich in protein and fibre.

The 49-year-old Race 3 actor will also be seen in Housefull 4 which is yet to go into production. He is also being speculated to reunite with Salman Khan for his upcoming films Kick 2 and Bharat.
