Russian journalist in awe of ‘oh-so-handsome, charismatic’ Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Russian journalist Sophie Shevardnadze, who interviewed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan a few days ago, was all praise for him on Twitter.

In a series of tweets, Shevardnadze, a correspondent for television network RT, called Khan “oh-so-handsome and just as smart” and “persuasive and charismatic.”

She also tweeted a funny video of her and PTI chief running their hands through their hair simultaneously.

She wrote: “Well, I and Imran Khan, at least we have synchronicity on hair matters 😀 but seriously though, enjoy the interview with this persuasive and charismatic man.”

The interview got a massive response and a lot of attention on social media.

One of the users wrote: “It was a great show. He answered all the questions without reading from a “parchi” ( I’m sorry I couldn’t find an English equaliant). You will have to come again in August to interview him when he takes oath as PM Pakistan.

To this,  Shevardnadze replies: “I hope so.”

In another video on her Twitter handle, she said she is “almost speechless at the reaction Imran Khan interview got.”

“I’m honoured by all the mad attention this is getting,” she said.

In the interview, Imran Khan asserted that the “US uses Pakistan like a tissue paper”.

“We faced the economic loss of more than $100 million and now when Pakistan is facing a crisis, US is imposing sanctions on it. The US uses Pakistan like a tissue paper. This attitude is unethical,” emphasized Khan.

“The aid which the US provides to Pakistan is nothing in front of our loss. The aid came quite expensive for us. Cricket teams stopped coming to Pakistan after our country joined the war of US,” said the PTI chief.

He maintained that the US speaks the language of India against Pakistan.
