LAHORE: The rights activists asked the government to provide the detailed report on the project for elimination of child and bonded labour initiated in 2014, here during a meeting at a local hotel, reported a local English newspaper.
According to information, Punjab government’s Integrated Project for Elimination of Child and Bonded Labour 2014 was started to address the issues of child and bonded labour through the social development of identified children and their families.
The activists working with brick kiln labourers, however, said that children are still at the kilns while schools are empty. An activist representative from Sheikhupura, Maqsood Ahmed, said that situation was so bad that furniture was lying at empty school buildings and remained unused.
