ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that a separate province is the right of the people of South Punjab.
He expressed these views while talking to former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, who called on him at Zardari House, Islamabad on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Zardari said that PPP’s stance regarding South Punjab province is very clear. The prevailing political situation in the country and the next general elections also came under discussion during the meeting.
Asif Ali Zardari said that the people of South Punjab were facing several problems and PPP, after being successful in the upcoming general elections, will create a separate province for them so that their difficulties are allayed.
PPP KP leaders discuss political situation, general elections with Zardari
In a separate meeting, PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) leaders Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel and Yousuf Jamal Shah Kakakhel called on Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday at Zardari House.
During the meeting, issues relating to the prevailing political situation in the province and next general elections came under discussion.
PPP Senator Sardar Ali Khan and Amir Fida Paracha were also present on this occasion.
