Panel established over Kasur child abuse cases: report

ISLAMABAD: The federal ombudsman ordered to establish a task force to investigate the rape and murder cases of children in Kasur, especially the horrific rape and murder case of eight-year-old Zainab, reported a local English newspaper.

The panel has been asked to point out what was described as systematic failures in the Zainab case. The committee has also been asked to suggest corrective measures to protect children from sexual assaults.

The decision to form a panel was taken during a meeting chaired by National Commissioner for Children of Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman), Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi.
