LAHORE: A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a crane working at the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project near the Haji Camp stop on Tuesday.
According to the police, Asim was passing by the crane on a motorcycle when it hit him accidentally. The motorcyclist died on the spot.
Following the incident, local police reached the site of the incident and arrested the driver of the crane. Further investigation is underway.
It is worth mentioning here that the mass transit project being completed in the provincial capital at the cost of billions of rupees has proved to be far more sinister than it appears as at least 70 lives have been claimed since the launch of the project.
While a majority of those among the killed was that of the labourers working on the project, several passersby also lost their lives in different mishaps.
Earlier in the year, a motorcyclist had died trying to overtake a vehicle-mounted mixer working at the OLMT site.
