BAHAWALPUR: A huge protest was held at the DPO Chowk on Monday for the recovery of a girl who was apparently kidnapped, five days ago from the area, according to a private news outlet.

The demonstrators held banners and placards and claimed that the 12-year-old Rimshah had been kidnapped by some locals and despite the fact that the Head Rajkan police had registered a first information report (FIR) of the incident; they had failed to recover the girl. In the report, complainant Hari Chand, the father of Rimshah, had alleged that Ata Muhammad, Saghir Ahmed and Wazir Bibi had abducted his daughter.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mustansar Feroze assured the demonstrators that Rimshah would be recovered soon after which the demonstrators dispersed peacefully.

The district police chief’s spokesman told the publication that a Hindu community delegation was asked to wait for 24 hours for the recovery of the girl.
