Key political figures from KP announce joining PPP

–Chief of Gakhar clan calls on Zardari, joins PPP

 

ISLAMABAD: Various renowned political leaders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) called on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Zardari House, Islamabad on Monday and announced joining PPP.

The key political figures which joined PPP include former federal finance minister Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan, PTI Hayatabad President Dr Ilyas Khattak and Matiullah Khattak, nephew of ANP leader Afrasiyab Khattak.

Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, PPP KP President Humayun Khan, former federal minister Lal Khan and others were also present on the occasion.

The new entrants said that the PPP leadership always fulfilled the promises they made to the people, adding that Zardari gave identity to the people of KP.

They were of the view that PPP is the party of great leaders like Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. They reposed full confidence in the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and were warmly welcomed by the PPP co-chairman.

Separately, prominent politician from Attock and chief of Gakhar clan Sardar Irfan Jafar Khan Gakhar along with Shiraz Hussain Shirazi called on former president Zardari and announced joining the PPP.

Zardari welcomed the Gakhar clan and their chief in the party. Sardar Irfan Jafar Gakhar said that PPP was the only party which always serves the downtrodden masses. He reposed full confidence on the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.
