News of Sonam Kapoor and beau Anand Ahuja’s wedding have been making the rounds and while we are still not sure when the wedding is scheduled to take place, latest reports have suggested that the wedding will take place in Mumbai from May 7-10.
This means that wedding preparations are in full swing and the Mumbai Mirror recently reported that Bollywood’s leading choreographer Farah Khan will be directing the dances for Sonam’s upcoming nuptials.
An inside source has claimed: “Rehearsals have kicked off at Anil Kapoor’s Juhu bungalow. Anil and mom Sunita will be putting together a special act for the bride-to-be at the sangeet. Sonam’s cousins and extended family have joined in as well for the pre-wedding ceremony. The dancing troupe will be performing on her hit songs like Veer Di Wedding‘s title track, Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai from the Fawad Khan co-starrer Khoobsurat, the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo title track, and Dheere Dheere from her music video with Hrithik Roshan, among others, besides other popular wedding songs.”
The source added that Sonam is expected to join in for a special act.
Farah was chosen because of her close ties with the Kapoors that dates to her early days in the industry. Farah is close to both Anil and Sunita, who have known the choreographer cum director since the time she started out in Bollywood. Over the years, Anil has danced to many hit numbers choreographed by her.
Meanwhile, Farah had been brainstorming on the ideal wedding present for Sonam and Anand and that’s when she decided to take charge of the sangeet celebrations.
Sonam and Anand’s wedding is expected to be a three-day affair which will include mehndi and sangeet ceremonies. The reception is to be held at a suburban five-star in Mumbai.
In January this year, Sonam was seen shopping at a high-end jewellery store in Kolkata with Anand’s mother. That led to a lot of speculation that her wedding was on the cards.
Last week, Farah Khan directed Sonam Kapoor along with co-stars Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania as well as rapper Badshah, for a song titled Tareefan in her home production, Veere Di Wedding.
