Changa Manga police robbed of official rifle, cash

KASUR: With robberies becoming an order of the day, a group of dacoits on Monday snatched rifles, cash and mobile phones from the Changa Manga police in the vicinity of the latter’s police station.

According to the details, Bhoey Asal, the in-charge of the Changa Manga Police Station along with some personnel was travelling via a private car when a group of robbers intercepted the policemen on the main road.

The unidentified dacoits snatched Rs150,000, two mobile phones and an official rifle from the personnel and also assaulted one of the policemen over resistance. The accused then fled the scene while firing shots into the air.

Later, Kasur DPO, SP (investigation) and Chunian DSP reached the spot.

As per the latest details, the Kasur police have failed to trace the accused and to recover the official rifle.

It is pertinent to note that robberies have become a routine in Kasur where dacoits have reportedly marked specific points for them to loot people of their valuables. Within the past three days, dacoits have struck at least 24 times and snatched cash, jewelry, valuables and motorcycles from several residents.
