PM, COAS arrive in Saudi Arabia on two-day visit

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived in Saudi Arabia on a two-day official visit during late Sunday to participate in the combat exercises organised by Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC).

PM Abbasi was welcomed in the Saudi city of Dammam by Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, among other notables.

A high-level delegation, including Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Federal Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir, has accompanied the prime minister to witness the military exercise.

On the other hand, the second stage of Joint Gulf Shield military exercise has started in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with 24 countries to increase its defence cooperation with the leading world nations.

Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz has invited representatives of the allies to participate in the “Joint Gulf Shield” military exercise.

The United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait and Turkey are among the other participants of the month-long exercise.

The exercise includes units of army, navy, air force and the special forces.
