ISLAMABAD: Celebrity weddings have been dominating our newsfeeds currently and the latest celebrity wedding to take place was none other than former Pakistani actor, Aisha Khan’s.
Earlier this week, we saw photographs from Khan’s mayun and mehndi, both of which seemed to be low-key affairs. Those events were followed by a nikkah at Islamabad’s Faisal Masjid and a baraat. Aisha looked breathtaking on both the events and we can’t help but gush over her.
Following the nikkah, Aisha changed her name on her social media accounts from Aisha Rao Khan to Aisha Uqbah Malik.
From the film industry, we only saw Aisha’s best friends Hamza Ali Abbasi and Gohar Rasheed in attendance. In fact, both of them were even part of the bride’s entry on the mehndi.
Meanwhile, Aisha’s co-star and good friend, Humayun Saeed took to Twitter to wish her for her married life. The tweet read, “Sending you lots of prayers, good wishes and love on this special day, Aisha. May your married life be even better than your phenomenally successful acting career and may Allah keep you blessed and happy forever.”

Last month, Khan announced her departure from the showbiz industry. This, of course, led to speculations that the actor was tying the knot.
Aisha then shut down all rumours by sharing a picture of herself with her fiance, Major Uqbah Hadeed, on Instagram with the caption, “My fiancé and I are overwhelmed with all the love and prayers that have poured in thus far. I had made my announcement to leave my media career as I now prefer to stay away from the limelight. We got engaged last year and have known each other for several years before. We would request privacy from here on and expect everybody to respect our decision of keeping our wedding a small family affair. Please remember us and our families in your prayers!”
