PPP gave identity to people of KP by renaming province: Asif Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday that the PPP gave an identity to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by renaming the province as per their desires, adding that the provinces were also given sovereignty and National Finance Commission (NFC) Award during their tenure.

The ex-president of Pakistan stated this while talking to the former member of Awami National Party (ANP) Malik Ijaz Khan who called on him at Zardari House, Islamabad, on Friday and announced to join PPP. Khan was also a ticket holder of ANP from Mardan.

Zardari said that the PPP always aimed to eliminate poverty, unemployment and ignorance.

The people of KP had suffered the most due to extremism, he added.
