ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesman Fawad Chaudhry while launching a tirade against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) said on Saturday that it will be better to commit suicide than enter an alliance with the party.

Talking to media persons, he criticised former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying they have been brothers to each other throughout their lives.

The PTI spokesman said that the political career of Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had come to an end, adding that the former premier’s daughter had entered politics by accident. “Maryam Nawaz does not even know her father’s history,” he added.

He claimed that Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif was drawing a salary of Rs 16 million from a foreign company but the parliament had not taken any action against him. He also predicted that more lawmakers would join PTI in the next few days.

Further, Chaudhry said that PTI had started taking applications for party tickets online, adding that the party had fixed May 4 as the final date for submission of applications for party tickets. “The names of party candidates would be finalised in May,” he said.

Commenting on the caretaker setup, the PTI spokesman said that the names finalised for the caretaker government were handed over to party leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who would give those names to Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah.

Fawad further said that a committee had been formed to make the party’s upcoming rally at Minar-e-Pakistan successful. “PTI’s rally on April 29 in Islamabad would be the biggest in the history of the country,” he claimed.
