Rare Quranic manuscripts displayed at Faisal Mosque

ISLAMABAD: Rare manuscripts of the Holy Quran, donated by Zahid Butt to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), have been displayed at the Faisal Mosque for the general public.

On Friday, CDA Administration Member Muhammad Yasir Pirzada visited the Faisal Mosque and showed keen interest in the manuscripts. He directed the management of the Faisal Mosque to brief the people about the details and history of these manuscripts.

He directed the management to also brief the people that why these manuscripts have been prominently placed at the Faisal Mosque. On this occasion, Yasir Pirzada said that being Muslim it was matter of honour for them that Almighty Allah has given them an opportunity to place these unique, rare, historic and antique manuscripts of the Holy Quran at the mosque.

He said that many of these manuscripts are more than many centuries old. He said that 1.5 inch sized manuscript of the Holy Quran was a unique gift which shows that how much Muslims adore the holy book. A considerable number of people attend Mehfil-e-Shabina in the last three days of Ramadan and a large number of people perform etikaf so that’s why millions of people will take benefit from the rare copies.

He also directed the formations concerned to take special measures for the protection and security of these copies of the Holy Quran. He directed the officials to ensure the sanctity of these sacred copies.
