ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Thalassemia Centre (PTC) of Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM) arranged a blood collection camp at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) for thalassemia patients on Thursday.
NUML Direction Administration Brig (r) Zia-ul-Hassan Sahi, Dr Amina Salman and PBM Director Coordinator Raja Jahangir and other officials also visited the donation camp.
The donation drive drew a huge response from students, faculty members, staff and especially women who turned up to donate blood for children suffering from thalassemia.
Ziaul Hassan Sahi, while visiting the donation camp, said that NUML always welcomes the blood collection drive from charity organisations and especially from PBM to help the deserving segment of society.
He said that the practice of voluntarily blood donating is very low in Pakistan. Such drives will encourage young students to go for voluntary donations.
Raja Jahangir said that blood donation collected from NUML will be used for thalassemia patients of the PTC only.
He said that PBM is striving hard to facilitate deprived and needy patients, and lauded the passion of students, faculty and staff in donating blood.
