SI among two cops injured in Faisalabad encounter

FAISALABAD: A sub-inspector (SI) among two policemen was critically injured in an exchange of fire with robbers here on Wednesday.

The police on a tip-off regarding presence of robbers launched an operation in Batala Colony of Faisalabad. Upon sight of police, the robbers started firing at cops injuring two including an SI and managed to escape the scene.

The injured policemen were shifted to hospital for treatment.

On April 1, a policeman was injured when culprits attacked a police van during a raid. The police launched operation for the arrest of proclaimed offenders (POs) in Lehtrar Bala area of Kotli Sattian, district Rawalpindi.

The culprits taking shelter in the area opened fire at police van injuring a policeman identified as Tariq driving the van and escaped.

The injured policeman was shifted to hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.
