No candidate from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should challenge Chaudhry Nisar in the upcoming 2018 general elections, Rana Sanaullah desired on Wednesday.
Talking to media, Sanaulah said, “If Nisar does not contest from PML-N’s platform in the next elections then no one should be given a ticket against him.”
He hoped that Nisar was not angry with the ruling party and would not go on to part ways. “He (Nisar) only had reservations regarding certain party leaders,” he added.
Sanaullah predicted that the rough patch between Nisar and PML-N would end once the former sat together with other party leaders and witnessed Maryam Nawaz treating him as her elder.
On whether or not Nisar would get a party ticket from his constituency for the elections, he said that the estranged leader should be given the ticket contrary to what his fellow Pervez Rashid said a few days ago.
The lawmaker continued that a politician like Nisar would never become a stooge, adding that he had always been an important member of the governing party.
It should be mentioned that the former security czar had been expressing his viewpoints against the party policy in public, much to the dismay of former Premier Nawaz Sharif and his close confidantes.
Earlier on Sunday, it was also reported that he may join the party of his class fellow, Imran Khan, though no official announcement has been made in this regard yet.
