ISLAMABAD: Attorney General Ashtar Osaf assured the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that government would issue notification for appointment of Ali Jahangir Siddiqui as Pakistan’s ambassador to United States of America after informing the court.

Justice Athar Minallah of IHC heard the case filed by a citizen Shahzad Saddique Alvi against the appointment of Ali Jahangir.

During the proceeding, AG appeared before the bench and informed that the government had not issued any notification regarding the appointment. He, however, requested the court for not making his statement as part of the case record.

He said that correspondence between Pakistan and America continued for appointment of Siddiqui as the ambassador.

He assured the court that the notification regarding the matter would be issued after informing the bench.

The court adjourned hearing of the case till May 2.
