KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) the other day turned down the bail application of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Ahsan in a murder case.

The SHC bench heard the bail plea of Ahsan who contended that he had nothing to do with the charges leveled against him. His counsel requested the court to release the suspect on bail.

According to the prosecution, the accused was a member of target killers’ team and had shot a person in 2012. Hammad Siddiqui and Raees Mamma were also nominated in the case.

The prosecutor maintained that the case is being tried in an anti-terrorism court at the moment therefore the bail application should be rejected.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, the bench rejected the bail application and directed the trial court to decide the case on merit within three months.
