HUNZA: The operation to rescue three missing civilians, lost in a landslide at Ulter Meadows area of Hunza, continues on the second day, Tuesday.
Earlier, two of the five civilians lost in the landslide were rescued while a search is still underway for remaining three.
The Gilgit Baltistan Commissioner Usman told media that teams of Pakistan Army have been called for search and rescue operation, adding that helicopter is being used to send necessities to the inaccessible areas to help the locals.
Meanwhile, rain continues to pour in northern areas of Pakistan as the weather remains cloudy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Kashmir. The central and northern areas of KP receive rain along with a bit of hail storm.
Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad and KP’s lower Dir district are among the areas receiving rain and hail as the weather turns cold.
Rain is also expected in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Mardan, Gujranwala and Faisalabad.
