LAHORE: The police on Tuesday arrested the prayer leader of a local mosque who tried to rape a 10-year-old girl in the Ghalib Market area of Lahore and started an investigation against him.
The girl’s parents were usually away for work and the prayer leader had been visiting the girl’s house for a few days to sexually abuse her.
Following his arrest, local clerics went to the police station to save him but the police resisted the pressure and registered a case against him.
