Nawaz failed to keep promise on ending power cuts, says Shah

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah on Tuesday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could not keep his promise to end power outages.

He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to launch a system that would ensure fair elections in the country. He said the progress of the country was weakened due to a weak election process.

“If state institutions indulge themselves in the “ancient game” they will not be loyal to the country,” he said, adding that politicians must be given equal opportunities.

NAWAZ CAME THROUGH BACK DOOR NEGOTIATIONS:

The opposition leader also alleged Nawaz Sharif of coming into power through “back-door negotiations” before the general elections in 2013.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader criticised the former prime minister for being quiet when others were being suppressed. “He wants the best for himself but not others,” said Shah.
