LAHORE: Pakistan’s relationship with gold goes far. Gold is literally part of every festive occasion and it is impossible to image Pakistani weddings without tonnes of gold.
A man hailing from Lahore decided to express his love for gold by taking it to an entire another level. On the day of his valima, he adorned a tie and shoes made entirely of gold.
Hafiz Salman Shahid, a businessman based in Valencia Town, donned an outfit worth 25 lakhs on his valima. While his clothes, a pantsuit, cost approximately 63,000 rupees; his shoes which had 32 tolas of gold in it cost 17 lakhs; his tie with 10 tolas gold cost approximately five lakhs; and the crystal embellishments on his outfit were worth 16,000 rupees.
For the protection of his pricey outfit, tight security measures were in place with police officials present on stage for the protection of the shoes.
Speaking to the media, Salman commented that he was always fond of wearing unique outfits and he wanted to wear something different on the occasion of his wedding which was why he chose to wear this on his wedding.
Moreso, since he is the only brother among seven sisters, his parents wanted to fulfill all their wishes on their only son.
