KARACHI: A Private security guard was shot dead when he offered resistance to robbers attempting to loot a cash van in Federal B. Industrial Area on Monday, a local media outlet reported.
SHO (Station House Officer) Sajib Javed said that the cash van belonged to a money exchange service and was travelling to a shopping mall in Gulshan-e-Iqbal for cash collection. Four men on two motorbikes intercepted and fired indiscriminately at the van as soon as they saw the security guard.
The guard, reportedly named Khalid, succumbed to his bullet wounds immediately and the robbers left without looting the cash.
The police are currently investigating the crime.
