FAISALABAD: University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has clinched a distinctive milestone by attaining the fourth position among 461 universities of the Islamic world.

A spokesman of the UAF said on Sunday that the ranking was carried out by the Information Technology University-Quality and Research Ranking (ITU-QRR) while the position was made on the basis of its valuable contribution to agriculture and biological sciences, and veterinary category.

The statistics released this week declared UAF number the number one university among 101 universities of the country in the said categories, he added.

UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Iqbal Zafar has described the new ranking as a remarkable accomplishment and matter of pride for the faculty, scientists, alumni, students and staff.

He dedicated the ranking to the collective efforts, hard work and determination of each and every member of the UAF community in the pursuit of excellence.

“We could not be more proud of this significant achievement. Thanks to UAF faculty and their outstanding research and teaching performance,” he said.

The ranking, he said, would further cement the belief that the UAF was indeed the finest university in the Muslim world, yet there was much work to do if the varsity was to be where it needed to be, clearly recognised as one of the 100 finest universities of the world.
