–Fawad Ch says PML-N’s situation not different from MQM’s

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry said that the situation of   the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was not different from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

“Many people from the ruling PML-N are defecting from the party and it has become difficult for PTI to adjust people in the party ranks. PML-N is facing fragmentation as per my predictions and more defections are likely from PML-N. PML-N is destined to face defeat in the upcoming general elections,” he said while addressing a press conference at the party’s chairman secretariat in Garden Town on Monday.

He was commenting on the presser of eight PML-N leaders from South Punjab who demanded new provinces “for the security of the future of the children of South Punjab.”

He ruled out the possibility of forging an alliance with any party in the upcoming general elections and said, “PTI will not back any independent candidate or another party and if Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi wants to level allegations, he should first resign. The PML-N party has no structure. The narrative of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has no space in the party so the party leaders are quitting it.”

“People who are quitting PML-N are making the right decision. The people of Punjab are not satisfied with the performance of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif,” he added.

Fawad said that PTI supported a separate province for the people of South Punjab.

“The people of South Punjab have taken the right direction as there is no development there. New provinces should be made on administrative basis. People from central Punjab will also join PTI very soon,” he said.

He said that the family of Auqaf Minister Zaeem Qadri had looted Rs 70 billion in Saaf Paani Projects while the Sharif family had looted Rs 300 billion from the country.

He lashed out at the government for the worst electricity loadshedding and said, “The lies of PML-N were exposed with 15-hour load-shedding in various parts of the country.”

He lauded Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar for taking suo motu notice of water projects and said that the whole nation was supporting the chief justice. He said that 56 companies were made to loot money of taxpayers and there was no one to question them.

“Sharif and his sons made Pakistan a corrupt state where they earned money through illicit means and took it away from the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) widened its probe against PTI leader Aleem Khan in connection with his alleged offshore company disclosed in the Panama Papers last year.

NAB initiated probe into the assets owned by Aleem’s wife and parents as well as his close relatives and friends.

  1. On the issue of much debated new province in Punjab, the fact remain that all the divisions in Pakistan be made provinces for the sake of better administration and management of problems of people on regional /local level with the precaution of least minimum bureaucracy and political setup. This setup is in line with that existing in Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey.
Honorable CJP can accomplish this task just with the stroke of his pen. No body else can do due to their vested interest..
