Mock PIA flight latest to mock Islamabad airport

(Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction. Learn to take a joke; you’ll live longer.)

ISLAMABAD – The first successful mock flight of PIA PK 9001 along with crew and technical staff that took off from Benazir Bhutto International Airport at 1:04pm on Saturday and landed at New Islamabad International airport at 1:29pm was the latest to mock the former airport, The Dependent has learnt.

The passengers aboard the trial flight continued to mock the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, for what they dubbed the ridiculous reality that it has been the international airport of Pakistan’s capital for many decades.

“Oh yes I can see why the old Islamabad airport regularly featured in the worst international airports in the world lists every year,” said one passenger after landing on the 3.5 long runway of the new airport, becoming the latest individual to mock the airport as of press time.

Furthermore, with the first trial flight handled entirely by PIA personnel, including the ground handling at the airport after landing and take- off, the flight also became the latest to mock the Pakistan International Airlines.

“However, this is valid till the time of landing,” a Civil Aviation Authority official told The Dependent citing anonymity given the sensitivity of the matter.

“I can assure you between the landing and the publishing of this piece, countless others would’ve mocked the PIA as well.”
