Committee formed to decide head money on Lyari gang war fugitives

KARACHI: A 10-member committee on Sunday has been established to decide head money on 18 fugitives involved in Lyari gang war.

The step was taken after DIG South Azad Khan wrote a letter to Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) AD Khowaja, recommending Rs 1-5million head money on 18 fugitives, stated to be part of Lyari gang war.

DIG South has recommended head money of Rs 5million each for Momin Khan and Taj alias Taju, close aides of Lyari kingpin Uzair Baloch.

An amount of Rs 2million has been suggested for the arrest of Wasiullah Lakho, Ayaz Zehri and Farooq alias Maya for taking extortion money from traders in the Old City area.

Further, Rs 2million should be head money for the arrest of each Faisal Pathan, Shafi Pathan, Mullah Nisar, Zahid Ladla and Shahid alias MCB, and Rs 1million for Siraj-ul-Islam, Jibrail alias Pathan and Agha Shaukat.

The cases against these fugitives have been registered at Jackson, Napier, Kharadar, Baghdadi, Kalri and Kalakot police stations, who have been at large since a long time.
