LAHORE: Pakistan’s transgender model Kami Sid has not only broken stereotypes associated with transgenders in Pakistan but has also taken them a step ahead. She has often dominated headlines, appearing in fashion shoots and short films.
Kami recently announced on Instagram that her short film, Rani, had made it to an international film festival.
“Super excited to finally announce that Rani will premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 30th! If you’re in LA or Orange County, do come out and watch some awesome films!” she wrote on Instagram.

Rani, produced by Rizvilia Productions, is a short film about a transgender Pakistani woman who takes care of an abandoned baby. The story also tackles social issues plaging the world.
The Newport Beach Film Festival is held annually in California, USA. The festival screens multi-genre, independent and studio films from all across the world.
