The former wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, Jemima Goldsmith on Saturday said women shouldn’t marry before the age of 70 in a bid to avoid divorce.
In a sarcastic tweet on Saturday, she stated: “The average British marriage length is the same now as it was 100+ years ago. (In 1900 it was 12 yrs because of death, now it’s 12 yrs because of divorce) So if we want to beat the odds, we shouldn’t really be marrying before.”
Fun fact: The average British marriage length is the same now as it was 100+ years ago. (In 1900 it was 12 yrs because of death, now it’s 12 yrs because of divorce)

Jemima Goldsmith married Imran Khan on May 16, 1995, in a traditional Islamic ceremony in Paris. A few months before her marriage with the former cricketer, Goldsmith had renounced Christianity and accepted into Islam. After the wedding, she relocated to Lahore, where she learnt Urdu. Imran Khan and Goldsmith had two sons together. However, things did not go well for the couple and on June 22, 2004, the couple had divorced.
