MQM leader gets married in Makkah


MAKKAH: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rauf Siddiqui on Thursday got married at the Grand Mosque (Holy Kaaba) in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

His Nikkah was solemnised by the Saudi cleric Abdul Nawaf.

MQM’s senior leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, former MPA Abdul Haseeb and Saudi dignitaries, along with the groom’s close family and friends, were present to grace the occasion.

His valima ceremony is expected to be held in Karachi on April 13, according to details.

Siddiqui has been a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Sindh from 2002 till today and has also remained a member of the Sindh provincial cabinet between 2002 and 2012.

The newly married MQM leader has been accused in a number of criminal cases, including the Baldia factory fire which left over 200 dead in 2012.
