Police registers case against seven involved in shaving off woman’s head: report

BAHAWALPUR: Police on Wednesday registered a case against seven people who allegedly shaved off the head of a deaf-mute woman out of vengeance at Ghauspur’s Basti Bhatti the other day, according to a report by a private media.

DPO’s PRO Umar Saleem said police instituted a case under sections 354, 355, 337(v) and 34 of PPC against complainant Razia Bibi’s brother Khalil Ahmed, his wife Faizan Bibi, a sister-in-law and other relatives including Rukhsana, Maqsoodan Bibi and Zahoor Ahmed.

Razia Bibi alleged that all these relatives in her absence shaved off the head of Safia Bibi over family disputes.

Taking notice of delay in registration of a case, District Police Officer Mustansar Feroze suspended Ahmedpur East Saddar SHO Ijaz Ahmed Khan from service.
