Police arrest cop accused of sexually assaulting woman in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Thursday arrested a constable stationed at Police Lines Headquarters on charges of raping a female domestic worker while under the influence of drugs.

The woman stated in her complaint that the policeman sexually assaulted her after an accomplice of his lured her into a house on the pretext of giving her work.

The woman, in a video footage recorded by reporters, is seen alleging that the accused policeman was under the influence of drugs when he assaulted her.

On the woman’s complaint, police registered a first information report (FIR) and arrested the accused cop on Thursday. The woman was allowed to go home after a medical examination. The awaited report of the medical exam will ascertain if the rape took place.

Similarly, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cyber crime wing on Thursday arrested a man posing as a pir (faith healer) for allegedly sexually assaulting and blackmailing women.

According to FIA, the man, resident of Haripur, used to harass women who approached him for the solution for their problems. He would then use pictures and videos of those women to blackmail them.
