LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday dismissed a petition regarding disqualification of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the grounds of holding two offices.

Petitioner Azhar Abbas moved the LHC for Punjab CM’s disqualification as Shehbaz Sharif apart from being the chief minister is also the co-chairman of Mass Transit Authority. He requested the court to disqualify CM Shehbaz under Articles 62 and 63 for not upholding his oath.

The advocate representing the government objected that the petitioner is not the affected party in the plea, therefore, the application should be dismissed.
