‘PTM does not have anti-state agenda’: report

LANDI KOTAL: The leaders of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) said that the party doesn’t have anti-state agenda and that there is a malicious campaign going on against them on media, branding them traitors and agents of the enemies of the country, according to a local media outlet. 

They were addressing a public meeting at the Bacha Khan Chowk on Sunday. They added that their major aim was to protect all the legal and constitutional rights of Pashtuns in Pakistan.

PTM central leaders Dr Said Alam Mehsud, Eng Tor Gul, Ali Wazir, Advocate Rahim Shah Afridi, Nazeef Lala and a local trader leader Zarqeef Khan Shinwari attended the rally. The leaders further said that all their demands are in accordance with the Constitution

The PTM leaders said that Frontier Corps should be replaced with Khasadar and Levies forces at all the checkpoints in FATA. They said that law-enforcement agencies shall refrain from disrespecting tribesmen at security checkpoints and stop misbehaving with people in the name of cleanup and search operations.
