–CM says elements involved in politics of negativity ruined KP, Sindh
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said national development and prosperity were the topmost priorities of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.
“The past, as well as the present, is a witness to the fact that our every step is aimed at ensuring national development and prosperity of the people. Pakistan of today is much better than that of the past and we are speedily moving towards achieving the goal of a self-reliant, prosperous and economically-sustained Pakistan,” he said.
Speaking to parliamentarians who called on him here, the chief minister also said the PML-N government had taken unprecedented steps to make the country economically self-reliant.
“Additional production of thousands of megawatts of electricity and restoration of peace in the country are among the historic achievements of the PML-N which will never be forgotten by the nation,” said Shehbaz and added that the people would always remember the PML-N for putting the country on the road to development and prosperity.
The chief minister further said that Punjab, in regard to its immaculate development process, had emerged as a role model for other provinces.
“The PML-N-led Punjab government has implemented its development agenda without paying any heed to the elements engaged in politics of negativity,” and added that the people would bury the negative politics of the opponents of development forever. “Those who increased the problems of the people will be held accountable for their deeds in the 2018 elections,” he said.
Further taking on his opponents, Shehbaz said that the performance of the “so-called claimants of change” was evident before the people and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had been ruined in the name of change.
The elements that remained engaged in sit-ins, lockdowns and mendacity would be hiding their faces from the people in the next elections, said the chief minister while adding that the party which was given mandate by the people of Sindh had disappointed the masses too.
“Those who turned the once city of lights, Karachi, into a trash-hub will also be held accountable in the upcoming elections while the PML-N will stand victorious with a vast majority on the basis of its performance and public service record,” concluded the chief minister.
